My approach as a counselor
I believe the therapeutic relationship is the foundation of effective counseling. Over my 15 years working in community mental health with adolescents and families, I've developed an approach that prioritizes creating a safe, supportive environment where clients feel truly heard and understood. I meet clients where they are in their journey, without judgment, and collaborate with them to develop personalized strategies for growth and healing.
My therapeutic style blends evidence-based techniques including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness practices. I tailor these approaches to each client's unique needs and goals. I'm particularly passionate about women's health issues, including supporting those experiencing infertility, postpartum anxiety, and depression.
When I'm not working, I enjoy spending quality time with my family and my sweet pups. You'll often find me practicing yoga or seeking peace near any body of water – whether it's a lake, river, or ocean!
