Neurofeedback

Neurofeedback can support individuals experiencing

  • By training specific brain wave patterns, neurofeedback helps improve concentration, reduce distractibility, and enhance cognitive performance.

  • Learn to activate calming brain states and reduce excessive worry through direct feedback about your brain's stress response.

  • Retrain dysregulated sleep patterns by strengthening brain wave patterns associated with relaxation and healthy sleep cycles.

  • Help regulate an overactive nervous system and reduce hypervigilance by strengthening your brain's ability to return to a calm state.

  • Improve emotional resilience by training brain patterns associated with positive mood and reduced rumination.

  • Enhance creativity, mental clarity, and cognitive performance by optimizing brain wave patterns.

How Neurofeedback works

Neurofeedback uses advanced EEG (electroencephalogram) technology to measure your brain's electrical activity in real-time. Small sensors placed on your scalp detect brain wave patterns, which are then translated to audio sounds. When your brain produces desired patterns (like those associated with calm focus), you receive immediate positive feedback through changes in the sound. This feedback helps your brain learn to reproduce these beneficial patterns more easily over time.

The process is completely non-invasive and can be done in-person at our office. Our system uses the latest neurofeedback technology, allowing for precise targeting of specific brain regions and wave patterns based on your individual needs and goals. Each session builds upon previous ones, creating lasting changes in brain function through neuroplasticity - your brain's natural ability to form new neural pathways.

What to expect with Neurofeedback

    • Complete a detailed assessment of your symptoms and goals

    • Provide relevant medical history, especially any history of seizures or head injuries

    • We may recommend a brain mapping session to create your customized protocol

    • Wear clean hair free of products to ensure good sensor contact

    • Sessions typically last 45 minutes

    • Small sensors will be placed on your scalp with conductive gel

    • You'll sit comfortably watching a screen that displays your brain activity through games or visual displays

    • Your practitioner will guide you through different training exercises

    • The experience is gentle and non-invasive - you remain fully clothed and alert

    • Most people feel clear-headed and calm

    • Some may experience temporary tiredness as the brain adjusts

    • Effects are cumulative - you may notice subtle improvements in sleep, mood, or focus
